Dowling House Historic Tours
The Dowling House was built in 1826 by John Dowling, and was the first stone building in Galena. It was a Trading Post and the Dowling family private residence.

Faithfully restored to its original 1826 appearance and condition, the Dowling House Historic Tour offers an incredible journey back in time, and will give you a genuine, immersive perspective into Galena's frontier and lead mining past.

Fun for all, all ages welcome. Family friendly daytime tours.
$14 per person, General Admission
Children 12 and under free
Closed Mondays and Tuesdays
Open Wednesday through Sunday
Tours at 11 AM, 1 PM, and 2 PM.

40 Minute Guided Tour Through The 1826 Dowling House

Located at 220 Diagonal St. just across Main St. from Fried Green Tomatoes Restaurant

Attached Gift Shop and Ticket Office

Tickets are available for Dowling House Tours in person at the Dowling House Gift Shop. Gift Shop opens at 10:45 am.

Tickets are first come first served, as availability allows. Tours limited to 16 people at a time.

Tours run on the hour, starting at 11 am. Last tour at 3 pm.

Combo Tickets including The Belvedere Mansion are Available in person at the Dowling House Gift Shop

The Dowling House is an historic tour, not a haunted themed tour, but strange things have occurred.

The Dowling House is a museum, do not handle or sit on furniture, keep kids under control at all times. Kids 12 and under are free, but MUST be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian.
